Kamal has lived in Oadby for over 20 years and was elected to serve as a Councillor for Oadby Grange in 2019. Kamal has been involved in a range of issues, from campaigning for better facilities for residents to being part of the successful campaign to retain the Children's heart unit at Glenfield. Prior to retiring, Kamal ran his own textiles business.

Kamal said, "My children went to local schools in Oadby and I'm passionate about ensuring we have the best possible schools, facilities and services for residents.

Leicestershire County Council is one of the most efficient Councils in the Country, which is in stark contrast to the wasteful Lib Dem Oadby & Wigston Council. I am keen to ensure we get better value for taxpayers' money across Oadby & Wigston and will continue to campaign for improvements and greater efficiency.
