We are regularly contacted by residents and businesses about the state of non-household bins across Oadby & Wigston, which are often seen over-flowing and spilling out onto the pavements.
This has been a problem across our town centres, parks and streets for a long time, even before covid-19.
The Lib Dem run Council feel that the current rota for emptying bins is sufficient - we don't agree.
The Council has spent over £6m of your money from 2014/15 - 2019/20 on agency/temporary staff, staff payouts, legal and employment tribunals. This doesn't include covid-19 spend in 2020/21.
We say, get the finances of the Council in order and spend more of our council tax money on emptying our bins.
If you agree with us that bins need to be emptied more regularly, please complete and share our petition below.
Please leave your email address and check the contact box if you'd like to receive update on this campaign, including the number of people who complete our petition.
If you have any pictures of overflowing bins you're happy for us to send to the Council and to use on social media to show the problem, please email us: [email protected]
